Accounts & verification

Do I need an account to browse SweetHomePet?

No. You can browse the marketplace, listings, completed outcomes, and safe public profiles without an account. You need an account and verified email to create a listing, apply, express buyer interest, or participate in protected messaging.

How does email verification work?

After registration, SweetHomePet sends a verification link to the account email address. Opening the valid link confirms access to that inbox. Email verification does not confirm identity or guarantee conduct.

What is identity or account verification?

It is a separate Customer Support review of information submitted by the account holder. An approved request adds an identity verification badge; it does not guarantee a person, pet, or transaction.

When is seller verification required?

An approved seller verification is required for new For Sale listing activity. It is separate from email verification. Customer Support reviews submitted information before the seller badge is approved.

How are shelters, rescues, breeders, and other organizations verified?

Eligible organization accounts can request a role-specific review. If approved, the matching organization badge appears publicly. The badge confirms reviewed account information, not future conduct or transaction outcomes.

Applications & messaging

What happens after I submit an adoption or rehoming application?

The listing owner privately reviews the structured application. If it is accepted, protected messaging becomes available so participants can ask questions and plan next steps. Submission does not guarantee acceptance.

How does buyer interest work for a For Sale listing?

An email-verified buyer submits interest through SweetHomePet. The seller reviews it and may accept an appropriate buyer for private messaging. SweetHomePet does not process the sale or guarantee its outcome.

Are my messages and contact details public?

No. SweetHomePet does not publish private messages, email addresses, phone numbers, exact street addresses, or application answers on public profiles or listings. Share sensitive details only when necessary and after appropriate checks.

What is a handover video?

After a For Sale listing is completed, the seller may submit a short, privacy-safe handover video. It is reviewed before public display. A handover video is optional context, not proof that every part of a transaction was safe or satisfactory.

Safety, reports & reviews

How do I report a listing or suspicious behavior?

Use the “Report a concern” link on the relevant listing or eligible private workflow page. Choose the closest category and describe specific facts. Reports are routed privately for review; the reported user does not see your identity or explanation.

Who can leave a review?

Only participants in a completed adoption, rehoming, or sale can leave the corresponding verified review. Reviews may be reported and moderated, and visible ratings exclude hidden or removed reviews.

Does a verification badge mean a transaction is safe?

No. Verification confirms that submitted account information was reviewed for a particular badge. It cannot guarantee identity in every context, future conduct, a pet’s health or suitability, or a transaction result.

Account status & Customer Support

Why might an account be frozen, restricted, or deactivated?

SweetHomePet may limit activity while reviewing safety, integrity, verification, or policy concerns. Some restrictions affect only specific actions. A deactivated or closed account is not presented as an active public participant, while records needed for safety and transaction history may be retained privately.

How do I contact Customer Support?

Email support@sweethomepet.com. Write from your account email when possible, use a clear subject, and include the public listing link or other non-sensitive context. Never email passwords, full payment credentials, or unnecessary identity documents.
