SweetHomePet policies

Terms of Service

The rules for using SweetHomePet’s marketplace and platform services responsibly.

Launch-ready draft requiring final professional review.

These terms reflect current product behavior but do not claim jurisdiction-specific legal review or compliance.

SweetHomePet is a marketplace platform

SweetHomePet helps users publish and discover pet listings, apply or express interest, communicate privately, record outcomes, and use related safety and verification tools. SweetHomePet is not the buyer, seller, adopter, rehomer, shelter, breeder, dealer, veterinarian, or agent in arrangements between users.

Age eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a SweetHomePet account. Registration requires an affirmative confirmation; SweetHomePet does not collect a date of birth for this purpose.

User responsibility

You are responsible for information, listings, messages, evidence, and other material you submit; for checking another user’s claims; and for deciding whether an arrangement is lawful, safe, and appropriate. Information must be accurate, respectful, and suitable for the stated workflow.

Pet arrangements and payments

Pet purchase, adoption, and rehoming arrangements occur directly between users. SweetHomePet does not hold, escrow, receive, or transfer the purchase price of a pet. Buyers and sellers arrange pet payment directly between themselves.

Stripe billing on SweetHomePet is only for SweetHomePet’s own platform subscriptions, credits, listing publication, promotion/featured placement, or similar platform services. See the Billing & Refund Policy.

Verification is not a guarantee

Verification badges indicate that a defined review step was completed. They may reduce some risk but do not guarantee identity, conduct, legal status, animal health, listing accuracy, transaction outcome, or suitability.

Animal welfare and applicable rules

Users must follow applicable animal-welfare, licensing, sale, transport, import/export, veterinary, consumer, and local requirements. Because these differ by location and circumstances, users should obtain qualified advice where needed.

Prohibited and unsafe activity

Fraudulent, misleading, abusive, unsafe, unlawful, exploitative, or prohibited activity can lead to rejected or removed listings, restrictions, account suspension or closure, evidence preservation, and referral for appropriate review. Do not use SweetHomePet to evade welfare safeguards or pressure another person into an arrangement.

Content, availability, and changes

You retain responsibility for submitted content and grant SweetHomePet the permission needed to store, display, moderate, and operate that content through the service. Platform features can change or be unavailable. Major mandatory policy updates may require a new, separately recorded acceptance without overwriting earlier history.

Account closure and retained history

Self-service closure disables access, revokes sessions, removes or anonymizes appropriate profile data, and removes active listings from public use. Multi-party transaction history and financial, consent, safety, moderation, fraud, security, and audit records may remain under the documented retention framework.
