Scope and platform role
This Pet Handover & Transport Policy serves as the SweetHomePet Shipping Policy. SweetHomePet is not a fulfilment centre. SweetHomePet does not warehouse pets, package pets, ship or deliver pets, transport pets, or take custody of pets. Sellers/owners and buyers/adopters arrange handover, pickup, collection and lawful transport directly.
Plan a safe, humane handover
Put animal welfare first. Confirm the other party’s identity and the animal’s details, ownership, age, health and needs before committing. Agree in writing on the handover location, timing, responsibilities and any transport arrangements. Use a suitable carrier and safe, humane transport appropriate to the animal; do not proceed with unsafe arrangements.
Documents and legal responsibilities
Users are responsible for required permits, veterinary/health documents, age requirements, vaccination documentation where required, destination/import requirements, and compliance with local, state and national laws. Check applicable transport and import/export rules before arranging travel. Obtain qualified veterinary guidance when needed for the animal’s welfare.
No shipping or payment guarantees
SweetHomePet does not provide delivery guarantees, shipping guarantees, transit insurance, carrier guarantees, escrow or pet-purchase payment processing. SweetHomePet does not receive, hold or disburse pet-purchase funds, maintain user wallets or stored balances, or allow user-to-user money transfers. SweetHomePet processes only its own platform-service fees.
Shipping-payment safety warning
Users should not send money for a pet solely because another user promises shipping or transportation. SweetHomePet does not receive or safeguard pet-purchase funds. Verify the animal, the other party and the arrangements before committing.
If handover or transport fails
Contact the other party and preserve messages, agreements, receipts and other records. Report suspicious or unsafe conduct to SweetHomePet. SweetHomePet may review platform activity or restrict an account, but cannot act as carrier, escrow provider or court. For an animal-welfare emergency, threats or suspected crime, contact appropriate local authorities where applicable.
